In South Africa, ROTOCON represents industry leading brands including Cheshire Anilox Technology, Domino, DuPont, Erhardt+Leimer, EyeC, Kocher+Beck, MPS, Pantec GS Systems, Phoseon Technology, Rheintacho, Rosas Maschinenbau, ROTOCONTROL, Screen, UV Ray and Wink, as well as its brand of ECOLINE finishing machines. On-site installations, training, after-sales service, maintenance, spare parts, consumables and refurbished equipment are also available through ROTOCON.
Featured on the stand were live demonstrations of ROTOCON’s ECOLINE machines including the RSH for label inspection, slitting and rewinding; the RDF 340 digital printed label converting and finishing machine; and a module from the RFP flexographic printing press. Also presented from the ECOLINE portfolio was the Pro Mount plate mounter and the Pro Clean anilox roller cleaner.
Sponsors contributing to the machine demos included self-adhesive label stock from Morgancoat; labels printed on a Screen Truepress Jet L350UV provided by VR Print; a UV curing system from UV Ray; flexible dies from Wink Stanzwerkzeuge; and cores from Mzansi Cores.
On day one of the show, ROTOCON announced its appointment as the exclusive EyeC local distribution partner for its range of innovative artwork and print inspection systems. Ralph Beier, sales director at EyeC, was present and provided live demonstrations of the EyeC ProofRunner Web in-line inspection system on the ECOLINE RSH slitter rewinder (as reported in last month’s Cracking News).
Other ROTOCON partners on the stand were Roger Meierhofer, area sales manager from Pantec GS Systems, presenting how the RHINO X brings high quality embellishment and cost-efficient brand protection to the flexible packaging industry (read more on page 68), and Kevin Naidu, representing the range of DuPont Cyrel photopolymer printing plates and processing systems available through ROTOCON.
Another highlight during Propak Africa included John Lomberg, ROTOCON market and business development director, being interviewed by show organisers and giving a live interview with service technician, Oscar Mashele, on Jacaranda FM.
A four-piece equipment sale was confirmed with a customer in Durban for an ECOLINE RSH 340 with dual rewind and film package, an ECOLINE RSH 340 with a turret rewinder, an E&L SMARTSCAN inspection system and an ECOLINE Pro-wash 430 wide plate washer.
Several other orders were received including a UV Ray curing system upgrade and an E+L ELSCAN OMS3 Basic web monitoring system sold to Label Den, an MPS EF 430 flexo printing press purchased by TubePac International, an ECOLINE Pro Clean anilox roller cleaner sold to Weightron and an order for two new machines added to the ECOLINE portfolio: the D320 and DC320.
