The fully automatic KZV-111 machine ensures secure strapping of uncompacted load units on pallets of various formats and shapes. It features an integrated light barrier that determines package dimensions, allowing the strap guide lance to precisely position between the wooden components of the pallet and apply double strapping.
Additionally, the integrated SoniXs ultrasonic technology enhances resource efficiency during the strapping process. ‘This sealing technique joins the ends of the plastic strap without requiring warm-up time. This means the machine only consumes energy during the sealing process, which boosts efficiency and lowers operational expenses,’ says product marketing manager Alex Jesser.
Digital and high-performance converge
Alex adds that the fully automated SoniXs TR-Connect transverse strapping machine and the SoniXs TRI-Connect inline lengthwise strapping machine provide enhanced connectivity for packaging end processes.
At drupa, Mosca showcased the process using 5mm wide PP straps and a combination of PP and paper straps, demonstrating an alternative to conventional plastic straps for applications with light loads.
The SoniXs TAI-Connect tandem machine is operated using a tablet, thanks to a Wi-Fi module integrated into both models. In addition, the interface facilitates seamless integration of both systems into existing production lines, either separately or in combination. ‘The standard integrated WebHMI enables operators to access real-time machine data such as availability, performance and quality, and to make flexible adjustments as needed,’ he explains.
Mosca’s new digital package allows for remote monitoring of strapping machines, offering increased flexibility regardless of location or time. It offers access to important data such as machine efficiency, throughput, operating time and warnings through a cloud platform, allowing faults to be rectified more quickly and costly downtimes to be minimised, Alex emphasises.

Processing sensitive products
Mosca also exhibited the fully automatic Saturn S6 stretch wrapper from its Movitec subsidiary, which wraps up to 120 pallets/hour. The extra cover film provides side and top protection from dirt, water and dust. The machine uses various wrapping programs to adapt parameters according to the product and load security, thus minimising damage and potential returns. The film can also be stretched by up to 300% before use to enhance resource efficiency.
Finally, the RO-M Fusion entry-level machine on display used light barriers to detect the product height and automatically readjust the strap tension value. This value can be stored in the system as needed.
The machine’s other primary benefit, according to Alex, is a delicate strapping mode to gently strap soft packages with up to 30% recycled polypropylene (PP) using a 5mm wide strap and 100% recycled PET with an 8mm or wider strap.
