MCG’S NAMIBIA DIVISION is headed by country manager, Lorenzo Rieth, whose experience includes flexible and rigid plastics packaging converting, as well as beverage filling technology in a brewery production environment.
Lorenzo’s career was diverted from the finance industry to plastics packaging manufacturing through a fortuitous opportunity at a local flexible packaging converter where he learnt the arts of extrusion, printing and bag-making, as quality assurance and production manager. He went on to spend a few years as a business unit manager responsible for filling beer and carbonated soft drinks at Namibian Breweries, followed by three years as general manager of a rigid plastics converter.
‘I was ready for a new challenge that would utilise my entire skillset and it has been an exciting journey heading up MCG’s Namibian Division as well as initialising local manufacturing of crates instead of shipping them from Johannesburg,’ Lorenzo states.
