However, in some applications problems arise with conventional adjustable systems, in particular with cutting-through, larger working widths and high production speeds. Following extensive R&D, Wink has devised the GapControl adjustable anvil roller that overcomes these limitations. The operator can adapt the gap to his specific needs flexibly and with great accuracy.
The system’s precise double-sided gap adjustment and its particularly stable construction facilitates cutting-through (metal-to-metal). In addition, the GapControl unit can be easily installed in the die-cutting unit and removed when necessary.
Simple and flexible to operate, the unit has two control knobs on its frame which adjust the gap individually for the drive and operator side in order to compensate for one-sided wear, inaccuracies in the cutting tool, and fluctuations in material thickness. Adjustment is possible when the machine is running or idling. As adjustment steps are less than one micron, even the smallest corrections can be made. The total adjustment range is ± 80?m, allowing adaptation to a vast range of materials and applications.
