Sappi’s proud history of paper industry R&D

SAPPI R&D was established in 1959 at the Enstra Mill in Springs. It consisted of a laboratory team of eight chemists carrying out routine tests on paper for the mill, and conducting research into pulping, bleaching and effluent control.
