MD and owner, Gerhart Mischinger, explains that the controller at the heart of the unit can be matched with a wide variety of sensors, drives and actuators. ‘Flexible interfacing to a wide variety of sensor signal formats and drive control conventions ensures ease of use, along with minimal operator adjustments. Once the operators have manually set the bagmaking machine, they can select auto mode and the edge guide does the rest.’
He also points out that Technimac has fitted durable push buttons for mode selection and manual control to eliminate any concerns surrounding membrane and touchscreen vulnerability. Furthermore, a backlit LCD interface displays the unit’s mode of operation and status.
Retrofitting the edge guide to existing machines or installing it on a new application is simple and quick.
‘This development is the latest example of Technimac’s 28-year commitment as a South African manufacturer of a variety of specialised machinery for the flexible packaging industry, including a range of internationally-acclaimed side-seal and bottom-seal bagmakers,’ Gerhart states. ‘In addition to our production expertise, we pride ourselves on superior customer service and spare parts supply in Southern Africa.’
