Based in Brackenfell, Cape Town, Conequipt’s Coronatech subsidiary manufactures corona surface treatment and static elimination systems. The company’s Mark Cooper is pictured with PPM’s Glywnnis Wells.
To meet evolving market requirements, such as enhanced operator-friendliness, Coronatech continues developing and manufacturing systems at its Cape Town factory.
‘We’re very competitively priced compared to imported systems, and have developed high-tech systems that comply with EU standards, allowing us to compete with European manufacturers at any level,’ asserts director, Mark Cooper.
In terms of coating and laminating of film and foil, the Coronatech system improves adhesion and ultra-fine cleaning of metal strips; and for printing applications, it improves adhesion of flexo and UV printing inks.
According to Mark, Coronatech’s success in the local market is proof of the system’s affordability and quality; and the latter is boosted by the use of the very best electronic components during the manufacturing process.
Along with a well-engineered product, Coronatech offers 30 years’ expertise gained through the facilitation of many different corona treatment applications. Customers also benefit from prompt locally-based after-sales service over the equipment’s lifespan.
In addition to technical expertise in corona treatment, Coronatech manufactures a range of static elimination systems that have also been well received in the industry.
‘In 2020, we’re putting new vigour into serving the market with affordable, value-added products,’ Mark concludes.
