Although Müller Martini machines are heavy-duty industrial manufacturing tools that are probably still performing well after all these years, do you really know whether you’re getting the absolute best out of your machines in terms of quality and performance? The first step towards better performance is knowing exactly what the condition of the machine is.
Print service providers (PSPs) are constantly pushing the limits and exploring every opportunity to maximise performance and reduce process waste. Müller Martini offers a range of life cycle management tools that can help PSPs and their team of operators maximise the performance and uptime of their machinery.
Inspection procedures and benefits
A prime example is Müller Martini’s comprehensive equipment inspections, which provide a full, detailed assessment of complete production lines. ‘MM Inspect packages represent inexpensive tools for obtaining a full conditional assessment of a machine, what it might need and what might be holding it back in terms of higher output, uptime and probably better quality,’ remarks Wayne Stevens, sales director at Thunderbolt Solutions, the South African market representative. ‘The MM Inspect tool will assist in optimising operating and investment costs and protect investments into the future. These MM Inspections are available for most Müller Martini machines and are offered at attractive flat rates, with all expenses included.’
One of Thunderbolt Solutions’ Müller Martini trained technicians will perform the inspection with a specific software application that utilises checklists, factory records, machine upgrade information and other data, which is only available to Müller Martini. The technician will focus on performing the inspection and providing a demonstration to the operators and/or in-house maintenance teams, who can have any of their questions answered at the same time.
The subsequent MM Inspect report will provide a detailed and expert technical evaluation of the machine, including full listings and prioritisation of recommended parts. It will also show any potential upgrades that are available for the machine.
According to Wayne, these reports are so detailed and well-illustrated that many Müller Martini users get these inspections done annually and use the report as guidance for their in-house maintenance teams.
