He adds that the results of recent print trials, carried out at Nilpeter’s technology centre in Denmark, are eye-catching label samples that demonstrate what is achievable with the right combination of best-in-class prepress, plate and printing press technology and knowledge.
The trials samples were printed on a Nilpeter FA-17 press, using nyloflex FTS Digital flat-top dot plates and prepress services by Reproflex. According to Joelle, the primary benefits of the FTS plates are the smooth surface for holding customised surface screening patterns and offering outstanding sub-surface ink repellence.
Jesper Jorgensen, global sales manager at Nilpeter, adds that the FA-17 is designed with Clean-Hand Technology to increase user-friendliness by, for instance, offering auto-register to automate set-ups, saving job data for easy recalls and automatically cleaning the anilox rollers before release.
Following the success of these initial print trials, the partners plan to expand the project’s scope further to address new sustainability demands.
