Global strength at a local level

Among its operations, Positive Packaging in Lagos, Nigeria, converts flexible packaging materials; BS Fine Chemicals supplies printing inks and cylinders.  Another Nigerian plant to make CPP films and metallising films is expected to start operations later this year.

Other recent global acquisitions include Positive Packaging United, Dubai, previously called United Flexibles, acquired in 2007, and already a leading converter in the region, as well as Primetech FZCO, a rotogravure cylinder manufacturer that commenced operations last year.

PPI currently has a global annual capacity of 50 000 tons of flexible packaging materials, 50 000 gravure cylinders, 5 000 tons of CPP film and
5 000 tons of metallising film.

Additional capacity is also planned in India, Nigeria and the UAE to accommodate the group’s continued growth.
