To use Midcomp director and Zünd product manager Sean Greer’s expression, it’s business as (un)usual during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Midcomp, he asserts, offers remote technical support and supplies for essential services from 08:30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays, and staff working remotely can be contacted on a national number 010 020 9999.
‘We’re offering some remote support productivity value-adds free of charge,’ Sean notes. ‘For example, those with Zünd cutting systems, who are cutting face masks, face shields, aprons, etc, can log in remotely and use our extensive experience to optimise a cut file to achieve maximum speed and productivity. We also offer to take cut files and nest them as efficiently as possible, using Zünd nesting software, so minimising media wastage,’ he adds.
Midcomp also offers a series of educational webinars, including a world-first, pay-per-use program for HP Latex customers, to help them weather these tough economic times.
Another webinar aims to help operators learn the basics of digital printing and finishing, including DTP file setup tips; and a machine maintenance and software training webinar is also offered.
For customers designated as essential service providers, Midcomp will dispatch engineers for technical service, but only on receipt of official documentation.
To ensure staff safety and to comply with government regulations, no deliveries are allowed. However, ink, media and spares are available for collection at agreed times – again with appropriate documentation.
