Flashback to drupa 2016, when Landa chairman, the iconic Benny Landa (right), declared the show would be remembered as ‘the inflection point in the industry’s transition from mechanical printing to digital’. He’s pictured with Landa CEO, Yishai Amir, in front of the S10 Nanographic Printing press.
Guests were able to tour Landa’s state-of-the-art production facilities, now including a third manufacturing plant, and given exclusive insight into the results of Landa’s continued strategic focus on ramping up production, logistics, supplies and service to accommodate growing demand for Landa technology. With presses operating and being installed commercially in Europe, North America and China, Landa Digital Printing is progressing its Landa S10 press and S10P perfecting press from beta testing
to commercialisation.
Guests also learned that adoption of Landa Nanographic technology is increasing at a significant pace. Engineered for the packaging and converting industries, and for the POP and POS markets, the Landa S10 press was shown printing 6 500 B1 sheets/hour. The Landa S10P was producing double-sided applications, demonstrating its efficiency and quality output.
Expanding market
Among the latest companies to invest in Landa technology is Grupo Gondi, a Mexico-based folding carton manufacturer, with the first Landa S10 in Latin America, improving its competitive edge with more profitable print runs for mainstream, medium-run packaging jobs.
Virtual Packaging, a full-service packaging prototype house, the first customer of the Landa S10 in North America, was recently joined by Marketing Alliance Group, the first North American display and visual merchandising company to install the B1 size Landa S10, delivering significantly faster, high-quality digital colour printing of short- to medium-run POP and POS applications.
And at the event in Israel, Quantum Group, a specialised direct mail, printing and marketing service provider based in Illinois formalised its collaboration with Landa Digital Printing by signing an agreement to purchase the first Landa S10P in the Midwest. Demonstrating the company’s commitment to providing effective, targeted direct marketing campaigns powered by cutting-edge technology, Quantum chose the Landa S10P for its game-changing speed, quality and productivity.
Quantum is the latest Landa S10P customer, following the successful installation of this perfecting technology at Mercury Print Productions in Rochester, New York, and at Route 1 Print in Rotherham, UK.
As part of the event, Mercury Print and Route1 Print joined a discussion panel of Landa S10 and S10P customers from around the world. Panelists shared their Landa journey experience, and the benefits and results achieved following the installation of their Nanographic Printing presses.
Landa also announced a new partnership with EyeC, whose renowned quality control solution, combined with an embedded Landa contact image sensor, enables the detection of print defects throughout the printing process, meeting the needs of printers across various market segments for 100% inspection in their production workflow.
Commented Yishai Amir, Landa CEO: ‘2019 has been a great year for us at Landa. With presses in the market and their benefits seen and felt by the industry, we see demand for Nanography building rapidly. To meet demand, we’re focused on expanding our manufacturing facilities with our third plant now in operation and construction of a fourth underway. We’re also bolstering our service and support teams to ensure a seamless customer experience. We expect to install dozens of presses over the next 12 months, and look forward to updating the wider print community on our progress at drupa 2020.’
