Taking place in South Africa at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec, from 11-14 March 2025, this triennial event has firmly established itself as the ultimate platform for industry professionals aiming to stay ahead in an ever-evolving market.
Propak Africa 2025 offers an unparalleled opportunity to explore transformative innovations and connect with key industry players. From sustainable packaging breakthroughs to the latest technologies in smart labelling, printing and advanced processing, the event delivers a comprehensive resource for enhancing business operations. With South Africa’s top innovators, suppliers and thought leaders participating, it’s a prime venue for networking, collaboration and discovering emerging trends shaping the sector.
Reaturing over 500 exhibitors, including industry heavyweights such as Qualitechs, ROTOCON, Filmatic, HG Molenaar, Cabletech Machinery, Ipex Machinery, Erema, Greentech Plastics Machinery, Hestico, Plastic & Chemical Trading, Adex Plastics and Machinery, Userve, Zerma, Safrique International, Starlinger, Topstar, Techplast, Fibre Circle and Wrapet, attendees will encounter thousands of new products, technologies and services on display.
‘This year’s show will be more than double the size of the 2022 event,’ comments Mark Anderson, portfolio director at Specialised Exhibitions, a division of Montgomery Group and organisers of Propak Africa. ‘Automation and digitisation are major themes, not just in general packaging but also in plastics, printing and processing,’ he adds. The rapid integration of Industry 4.0 practices, including automation, smart packaging and digitised machinery, underscores its importance to the expo. Exhibitors are poised to showcase cutting-edge solutions, from automated machinery to advanced materials, designed to drive efficiency, sustainability and cost-effectiveness in production processes.
Over the four-day event, attendees can access a diverse programme of seminars across two theatres, featuring insights from over 50 expert speakers. Sessions will align with themed days focused on innovation, sustainability and local advancements.
Adding further value, the Institute of Packaging South Africa (IPSA) will host three specialised half-day conferences, enriching Propak Africa’s robust knowledge-sharing agenda.
Enhanced visitor experience
To maximise the visitor experience, Propak Africa 2025 introduces the OneMatch Business Networking tool, enabling attendees to schedule meetings with exhibitors in advance. ‘We’re also launching a WhatsApp Concierge Service,’ Mark explains. ‘This live channel will assist attendees with navigation and provide on-demand event information. The service activates as visitors scan their tickets at registration, offering live chat functionality for additional support.’
He concludes: ‘Our team has worked closely with partners to integrate the latest exhibition technologies and create an engaging lineup of visitor activations. Propak Africa 2025 is set to be a dynamic, value-driven event.’
