For Angelique Greer, Midcomp’s group marketing director and assistant sales manager, the highlight was HP’s latest advancements in its Latex technology, including the L800 and L2700 models, which emphasises the company’s continued innovation in printing technology.
However, the spotlight was also on the anticipated launch of the HP Latex 630 Series, even though it wasn’t physically displayed at the event. The introduction of this new series underscores HP’s commitment to expanding its portfolio with versatile and high-performance solutions tailored to meet the diverse needs of the modern printing industry.
‘The HP Latex 630 Series is distinguished by its use of fourth-generation inks, with a particular emphasis on white ink. This innovation marks a significant advancement in the capability to print vibrant and opaque white layers, a feature highly sought after for applications requiring standout graphics on transparent or coloured substrates,’ she remarks.
The new white ink formulation enhances opacity and brightness, ensuring that prints maintain their visual impact and clarity. This development is particularly beneficial for businesses involved in signage, displays and packaging where high-quality, durable prints are essential.
Sustainability was another key focus for HP at drupa 2024. The HP Latex 630 Series aligns with HP’s broader environmental initiatives. ‘These inks are water-based, reducing the environmental footprint associated with solvent-based alternatives. Additionally, the inks are designed to be durable and versatile, extending the life of printed materials and reducing waste,’ Angelique comments.
ZÜNDerbar
At drupa, Zünd introduced its new Q-Line generation of cutters – with the BHS180 board handling system and the integrated UNDERCAM optical capturing system. ‘This new cutting solution sets new standards in automated digital cutting,’ Angelique states. According to her, the new machine concept in the Q-Line with BHS180 will redefine performance limits in multiple respects and significantly improve production efficiency compared to traditional die cutting. ‘The Q-Line series is designed to offer unparalleled precision, speed and efficiency, catering to a wide range of industries, including packaging, textiles and graphics.’
This new line features advanced automation capabilities, allowing for seamless integration into existing workflows and minimising manual intervention. The Q-Line’s state-of-the-art software and hardware innovations enable precise cuts and intricate designs, ensuring that businesses can meet the increasing demands for high-quality, customised products. Additionally, Zünd’s commitment to sustainability is evident in the Q-Line series, which includes features aimed at reducing material waste and energy consumption, aligning with the industry’s growing emphasis on eco-friendly production practice.
