This acquisition marks a significant upgrade in its manufacturing capabilities, promising to enhance service delivery and product quality for customers.
Despite being an cost-effective press, the ALPHAFLEX boasts advanced technology and impressive features. It supports eight-colour printing at speeds of up to 400m/min and is designed for flexible packaging printing on both film and paper. With a maximum print width of 1 270mm and an 800mm maximum repeat length, it offers versatility and efficiency.
One of the standout demonstrations of its stability at drupa involved balancing a coin inside the press while it was running, showcasing the machine’s precision and reliability.
W&H has innovatively turned the unwind section by 180°, creating two distinct working areas: one for safe and easy access to the print decks and another for loading webs. This design improves workflow and safety.
Energy efficiency is another key feature. The machine includes selectable drying nozzles, allowing operators to activate only those necessary, significantly reducing energy consumption. Additionally, it boasts a 40% longer drying tunnel, ensuring optimal drying performance at high speeds.
Jill Celliers, managing director of Packaging World, expresses her enthusiasm: ‘We’re extremely excited about this new press and how it will enhance our manufacturing and printing capabilities, allowing us to deliver even better service to customers.’
According to Jill, Packaging World has recently been acquired by new BEE partners who are planning significant equipment investments in the near future. ‘These are exciting times. Two new presses have been commissioned: one set to be installed this year, and another next year. The company has some major plans in the pipeline.’
Building on the global success of the W&H Miraflex, the ALPHAFLEX, with its innovative design, print stability, ease of operation, reliability, and many other cutting-edge features, is poised to once again set the industry standard.
