Delegates were able to learn first-hand the benefits of ink technologies and solventless printing. Those innovations, three of which are already marketed and a fourth to be available very soon, result in improved quality, lower costs and a reduced environmental impact.
Following the theoretical seminar held at a hotel in Barcelona, the scene moved to Comexi headquarters where a practical workshop included a demonstration of different technologies.
The WB Comexi FLEXO F2 was the main focus of water-based fl exo printing and water-based EB (electron beam) curing, which, according to Comexi, has become the most suitable eight-colour press for medium and long runs without compromising speed and/or quality.
In addition, EB offset printing was demonstrated using Comexi’s OFFSET Comexi CI8 that substantially improves time-to-market and production fl exibility compared to fl exo and gravure printing.
Comexi’s South African distributor is Advanced Packaging Technology.
