Printed in SA: Angola’s census questionnaires

Ipex delivers blueprint for future print events

Paarl Media invests in KZN

Following the acquisition of the printing division of Natal Witness, Paarl Media has made further substantial investments in upgrading printing facilities in Pietermaritzburg, KZN. These investments see a significant increase in the capacity of Paarl Coldset Pietermaritzburg and introduce a higher degree of automation.

Since acquiring the coldset printing facility in 2012, Paarl Media has undertaken projects totalling R107-million.

Says Paarl Media CEO, Stephen van der Walt: ‘We’re confident our investment will benefit existing and potential customers of Paarl Coldset Pietermaritzburg and we foresee a positive impact on the surrounding community through additional employment. The upgrade has greatly improved working conditions and operational efficiency.’

Significantly increasing capacity is a new manroland Cromoman press, while an automated mailroom system from Müller Martini is set to improve efficiency in the finishing department.

The new equipment includes a Ferag pick-up station and a Ferag SmartStack to replace outdated Ferag stackers.
